Tawanna Taylor, is a health specialist with nearly twenty-two years of experience in leading business of care with the focus on self-care and issues of family participation in care, control of care and continuity of care. 

 

A native from Chicago, IL Tawanna, would share the responsibility in assisting her three uncles who are intellectually creative. Tawanna would care for her sick grandmother after hiring several care professionals whom lacked deep compassion when caring for her loved ones. Despite Tawanna’s fast and busy upbringing, she continued to pursue her goals in the medical field. 

 

Tawanna completed her studies at Northwestern College and National Louis University. There she obtained serval certifications: Iv specialist, heart-math therapy, pharmacy technician, first-line therapy for personalized lifestyle medicine, etc. working in aesthetics, chiropractic, conventional and holistic integrative care, she answered the call. With personal experience and education, Tawanna developed a passion to ensure that intellectual creative people live life on purpose. This would result in a particular pathway to better care for assisted living.

After relocating to Tampa FL in 2010, Tawanna realized that the chronic problem in poor facilities and the human cost of corporate greed was not a regional matter, but a nation’s task. Developing programs and facilities with the residents, families, providers, community, and policy makers in mind is key to building confidence and reassuring lives have purpose and meaning. As founder of Life of Purpose Inc (LOPI) 501c3., Tawanna has worked hard to build the organization’s capacity around such model.

Tawanna is Vice President of her HOA community, a member of Business professional women-Tampa, FL (BPW), and trustee for two non-profit organizations located in Tampa FL: Altar worship center Inc., enriches the community with spirituality, growth and development and Rec and Chill Inc., use purposeful recreational therapy for seniors and people with intellectual disabilities to address specific needs and goals. Tawanna is breaking ground by inviting partnerships from other local social organizations in Tampa, FL to collectively resolve the issue. 

 

Tawanna holds a certification in Health Insurance Portability Accountability (HIPAA), Medication Administration, Direct Care Core Competencies, Assisted Living Facility Core Training, etc.
